Rozalynn Goodwin Recognized in “20 under 40” Feature COLUMBIA, SC, January 4, 2009—Rozalynn Goodwin, founder of The
Motherhood Priority, has been recognized as one of 20 leaders under the
age of 40 making a mark in the Midlands area by The State Newspaper.
The sixth annual “20 under 40” feature recognizes up and coming leaders
who have achieved professional success and are active in community
matters. Profiles of the winners will be published in the January 5,
2009 edition of the Columbia Business Journal. Rozalynn has also been
chosen as one of the three recipients to address the class during their

The Motherhood Priority and SC Hospital Association Receive Grant to Study Work Environments for Nurses COLUMBIA, SC, December 10, 2008— The Motherhood Priority and South Carolina Hospital Association have received a Community Award from the March of Dimes South Carolina Chapter to study the work environments for nurses who are mothers in hospitals. A series of focus groups will be conducted with nurses who are mothers, chief nursing officers and nurse managers, and human resource executives and recruiters, representing an array of hospitals across the state of South Carolina. Findings from the focus groups will be summarized and published in a report for distribution, and an educational program will be conducted to announce the results and offer hospitals across the state an opportunity to discuss and share best practices for creating mother-friendly work environments for nurses and eventually all other working mothers. The Motherhood Priority Featured on TV COLUMBIA, SC, June 26, 2008—The Motherhood Priority was featured on Columbia-based television stations WIS 10 and WLTX 19. Founder, Rozalynn Goodwin was chosen as a WIS “Person to Count On” and an interview with anchor Brian DeRoy and Goodwin was aired on June 17. Goodwin was also a guest on the daily WLTX “Friends @ 5” program and the live interview aired on June 26. Both interviews highlighted the challenges facing working mothers and how The Motherhood Priority is working with employers, policy-makers and civic organizations for mother-friendly policies in the workplace. Organization Launched to Advocate for Working Mothers COLUMBIA, SC, May 11, 2008 — The Motherhood Priority today announced the launching of its advocacy work for mother-friendly workplace policies. Policies include but are not limited to paid maternity leave or short-term disability benefits, paid sick days for mothers and children, flexible work schedule options, on-site child care and lactation rooms.
